Where we spend our 2013-2014 countdown together at Batam.
It’s my first trip to batam.
I was so excited the day before I only managed to sleep a few hours..
Had to wake up at 5am.. and reach harbourfront by 7 to check in for our flight at 820am. (Need at least 90mins)
Departure!
Our pretty passports
Once we got out of the Batam ferry terminal, there is a guide waiting for us to pick us to the bus.
So it was quite convenient.
Our first stop is to the chocolate factory,
And although they say it’s a chocolate factory, it’s not even a factory.. it’s just a shop.
honestly the chocolates were so-so, Singapore’s candy empire is much better.
haha 🙂
chocolate factory
Our second stop was to Maha Vihara Maitreya temple.
As the tour guide says, it is actually the largest temple here in South east Asia.
They have schools inside too..
Its really quite big and spacious inside.
We took quite alot of pictures here, we took with the 12 zodiac animals.. but below are just some the rest is in facebook. 🙂
At Maha Vihara Maitreya temple.. i guess he needs some cleaning over there
belly touch.
piggy with piggy
my sister’s monkey friends!
We went to the polo outlet next, Ralph Lauren.
I guess it is the authentic Ralph lauren,
but nothing caught my eye.. i don’t wear polo tees. So we just looked for awhile and went up to the bus to wait for the rest.
Next, Kueh Lapis!!
Batam is like super known for their kueh lapis,
i think almost everyone on my tour bus bought at least one each. 😀
The original flavoured is like $25, some flavoured ones are $29.
Homemade cake lapis
Next, we had lunch at Golden prawn 933.
The food there is so-so only.. nothing really nice so i don’t know why they bring us here.
We have to share the food as well and there is like no common spoon.
Haha ok, i didn’t like the lunch.. next!
Lunch at Golden prawn 933
as u can see, the decorations are cmi.. quite tacky
Indonesia cultural dance
There was this performance where the guy ate glass?!?! Haha quite interesting..
After lunch, we were supposed to go play the flying fox, Go Kart and water sports..
however.. IT RAINED! SOBSOB. I was so looking forward to the flying fox though..
So the tour guide brought us to a souvenior shop to make customised keychains. I made 4- one for my mum, and 3 for my sis and I. The guy making for us was friendly. 🙂
Us in the bus
After much shopping at other stops at Bengkong dry market, Batik factory outlet and first outlets- nothing much for us girls to see cause the clothings there are really not nice luh. haha so we just walked abit and went to the bus to wait for the others.
The 2nd last stop was to the BCS mall which was near our hotel- BCC.
We were only given 1hour to shop the entire shopping mall.
How is that even possible?!?
So we zoomed through the levels, just glancing at the stuff.
LAST STOP! Massage!!!!
YAY! Haha much anticipated..
We went to the massage centre called Sawadekap.
The people were separated by curtains,
Simin and I were just placed next to each other so i guess it’s kinda like a “couple suite”.
We were asked to change behind the curtains, but even before we changed, the female therapists barged in. -.-
they didn’t even give us time to change. haha i was like whatttt… then they say “what you have we also have”. haha ok loh..
The massage was quite shiok 😀 We added $10 for the scrub- to remove dead skin cells and for whitening.
The staff was nice luh.. they know a little english so it was good.
I was able to ask them what time does the supermarket closes.. and chat a little with them. hahaha
The best part of the trip is definately, the hotel room.
We stayed at BCC hotel.
It’s awesome la, i loveeeeeee the room.
I miss the nice, soft pillow.. and spacious area, and everythingggggg.
The couch at the full glass window was awesome.
We got to sit/lie by there, and do lots of stuff.
The best part is.. the FIREWORKS!!!!!
BABY YOU’RE A FIREWORK~
There’s like at least 1 firework in view every sec.. for a few hours.
The fireworks is easily accessible at batam, and so many people could just set their own. It’s super pretty!
I actually sat by the window to watch the fireworks for at least 2 hours.. that’s how much i love fireworks 🙂
Here is us, doing crazy things in the hotel room. 🙂
yeap, we do lots of silly thing
Acting likea ballerina..
And here is us, crazily jumping on the bed.. haha
*innocent looks*
It was bought at Singapore custom there.. at like $20? haha 🙂
We heard the cup noodles are nice.. so we bought alot.
FIREWORKS.. I LOVE THE FIREWORKS
THIS IS THE BEST COUNTDOWN YET!!!!!
Two silly people.. woke up at Singapore time 7am just to have breakfast..
when it’s supposed to be 7am batam timing. (Batam is 1hour slower then SG)
We could have slept for another hour..
The breakfast buffet was not bad, had quite a suitable amount of variety.
Breakfast!
After eating, we went for a swim!!
Time to swim 🙂
The pool area is pretty
spot the diff..
no more bath slipper! haha
At 1115BT, we had to check out of the hotel and wait for the bus to come pick us up to the ferry terminal.
Our ferry time was at 320BT, so we had time for lunch and chilling.
We found our much awaited food- A&W!! It’s like a must eat when u come batam.. Noms!
Last meal- A&W!!!!!!!
PS: BTW- we bought the package on deals.com
2D1N+ 1hr massage is $68
Taxes and tips- $30
OMG and yea they have this hotel deposit of $50.. (which they didn’t state)
It was a great trip, just that no tour next time, better to go free and easy! Haha i had a great trip overall thought.
