BKK Blog

Hey friends, welcome to my BKK blog post!

Some of my fav places to shop in Bangkok is Talad Neon night market, Pratunam market & Rod Fai 2 night market. Think if i were to come back to BKK again, it’ll be for the food. ❤

K Maison Hotel is probably 15 minutes walk to Pratunam morning market. I really love the interior and design of the whole hotel. It’s super bright with blue and white theme. However the downsides are: there is no lift & we stayed on the 4th floor so we had to carry our luggages down also, it’s not super near the central as compared to other hotels. But for it’s looks and all, i think its still worth a stay to try it out. But I think location wise, it may not be the best when it comes to shopping.. esp when i’ve tried other hotel like Centara Pavillion, which i think the location would be more ideal. 🙂

home sweet home, till next time, BKK!

Thanks for dropping by my lovely babies! ❤ Till next time~

Thailand Khao Yai Blog 3D2N

Hello my friends, haha as usual, i took forever to update my travel blog. Haha almost one year has passed since I last went to Thailand where I explored to Khao Yai (2days) and BKK (2 days) from 26th- 30th Sept 2017. As i’m typing this, my memory abt the trip is slowly coming back to me. 🙂 I booked my flight on AirAsia during a promo so its only SGD100/pax both ways. But I made a big mistake which is to bring my hello kitty luggage which is not cabin size, omg.. so i ended up paying abt 60-ish for the excess luggage to it check in.. don’t be like me. Was contemplating to go between Hua Hin and Khao Yai but realised there wasn’t much in Hua Hin so we decided that KY was a better choice.  Anyways read on for more exciting pics coming up!

BKK blog final (Centara Watergate pavilion hotel, Rabbito Café & Rod Fai 2 market)

Hellooooooo, this shall be the final post for my BKK trip!

First thing we did was to check out of Berkeley hotel & changed hotels to Centara Watergate Pavilion which was a stone’s throw away from each other. I cannot help but say I like this hotel wayyyyyy better then the other one as I prefer bright and modern hotels rather then traditional looking ones. They even seated us down and served us welcome drinks and towels. ❤

BKK Day 2 (Floating market+Chatuchak+JJ green)

Hey there and here’s my day two activities for the day.

We went on a trip to the Damnoen Saduak floating market which is about 99km away from Platinum mall shopping centre so it took us about an hour plus to reach. Snoozed my way there~ Hehe :p Omma and I booked the cab a day before with the driver to send us there and to arrange a private boat to bring us around the floating market. Spent 2800baht for the two-way cab transfer and private long tail boat. Think it would have been cheaper if we went on tour tgt with other people but then, it’s better to go ourselves as we can have the whole boat to ourselves so we could go wherever we wanted. we both just nua-ed on the boat so we didn’t get out of the boat to walk around. Haha 🙂

It was both our virgin trip to the floating market & we both wanted to go to experience how’s it like. It’s worth it to go down to have a look but don’t get your hopes too high cause we didn’t feel like there’s a lot of things actually. Or maybe there a lot of things to see if you get down the boat? (which we didn’t) Mainly love BKK for the food!!! Been eating all day all night while we were there. HAHA. To be continued.. our hotel change to Centara Pavilion Watergate hotel which is prettier and better then Berkeley. 😀

Bangkok Blog 5D4N

Hello, I’m back. Which means I just came back from a holiday! Haha 🙂 Have been real busy and I’m just being disciplined enough to update my travel blog & pictures so that I can record them and keep them as memories. Usually I’ll store my photos in phones/thumbdrives/other ppl’s hard disks so yeahhhh, it’s everywhereeeee. You know, the saying goes don’t put all the eggs in one basket. Anyways, enough blabbering.

Time flies cause I’ve finally finished my first semester of Uni!! Gosh that was tough, juggling between work and studies. I had two month’s break before school starts again next week. 😦 Thankfully I managed to squeeze in a holiday from 15-19th July 17 before school starts again. I managed to grab some super awesome good deal for my flights on Cathay Pacific as they were having an OCBC card promotion so for SIN/BKK & BKK/SIN, total cost including taxes only added up to be SGD187.30 each pax. Awesomeeeee ❤

IMG_2403

Arrived in the airport very early cause we’re excited. 🙂

Went to try taking the airport rail for the first time. Hehe it was really easy to find and smth like sg mrt. Just that token is like our ezlink. When you go in, have to tap, when going out, just slot it in the coin compartment. 40baht each.

IMG_2480IMG_2481IMG_2482

IMG_2483

Haha nice water shape. I donno why I have to take pic of this as well….

Anyways, Berkeley hotel is not our fav.. it’s just normal only ah.. like traditional bkk style. There’s this corner with two traditional chairs that is very creak creak we didn’t sit on it. We planned to stay here for two days and then try out another hotel (Centara Watergate Pavillion hotel) for the other two. And the other was more OUR STYLE. So yeah 🙂

My tummy that day was not feeling so good & the first thing I spend money on in BKK was to get Panadol. Thankfully after that was ok. We initially went to the night market near our hotel but it decided to rain heavily so we escaped to Platinum Mall (5mins walk). Only to see that the rain stopped after we reached Platinum Mall. Shag, we felt like poor kitties who were cold, hungry and wet.

After dinner, we headed back to the night market! 🙂

Home Sweet Home

17-18 Nov 16

We took an overnight flight on scoot at 10:10pm and reached Guangzhou at an unearthly hour of 2:05am in the morning. The Baiyun International airport was nicer than I expected. But because of the timing, the shops in the airport were all closed! We went on to find a cab to bring us to our hotel. The first few taxi drivers tried to cheat us and quoted us 300 yuan!! I was quite determined NOT to get scammed by the taxi drivers in other countries as much as possible so I had to do my research. Haha so from my research, the taxi from the airport to my hotel is about 120 yuan. I damn aunty so I’ve planned and checked everythingggg before we went Guangzhou. HAHA anyways we managed to get a cab that was willing to charge us by the meter!! YAY! 😀 End up we only paid like 130 yuan or something like that.

We stayed at the Ocean Hotel, it is a four star hotel, situated about 10-15 minutes walking distance from the nearest metro station. We just had to walk a stretch all the way straight to reach, so it’s pretty easy to locate. Anyways, we reached the hotel at 3am and the hotel was nicer than I expected. I thought the name is just Ocean hotel, but didn’t expect it to be ocean and boat themed, so it’s like quite cute. Anyways, we just chilled and loitered around the hotel lobby (cause I didn’t book the extra night), and went around the 7-11 to eat. And chatted with the hotel staffs, we had so much time; the GM became our friend throughout the trip. We waited till about 6am & they took pity on us and gave us early check-in and gave us a free-upgrade once the guests checked-out.  ❤ Damn nice! Haha we were quite thankful.. and cause I could finally escape the lobby where I got bitten by mosquitoes. :/

1st day, we visited the Tao Tao Ju (陶陶居)as it is the oldest dim sum restaurant in Guangzhou. We alighted at Culture Park Metro Station and had a long walk before reaching the Shang Xia Jiu district. Shang Xia Jiu was our favorite place to do our shopping however; we went during November so the clothes were mainly winter wear. We had Hai Di Hao for our dinner and it was awesome! It’s like the Hai Di Lao in Singapore, but that day when we went, there was a performance where the person kept changing his face. The price for the food is also cheaper!

19 Nov 16

2nd day of the trip, we visited the Million Sunflower Garden. It’s probably one of my favorite attraction cause there were many pretty flowers and nice place to take lots of pictures! We took the metro to Jiaomen and transferred to a bus at the interchange. Took about 2 hours long bus journey ride to the place, but I enjoyed the ride cause we got to see the scenery. J

At night, we had dinner at Bingsheng Pinwei 炳胜品味 and tried their water ghost heavy tofu (水鬼重豆腐), roast meat and their bun.. (heard that the polo bun was nice, but it was sold out so we tried the other bun instead, but it’s nice too)

After dinner, we went to visit the iconic Canton Tower. 😀

At Bing sheng pin wei:

20 Nov 16

3rd day, we had our brunch at a random restaurant to have wanton noodles. It’s actually quite good. And after that, there’s this pastry shop few shops down & I got this “Ham Shui Kok” that’s like damn nice.. hahahah. The skin outside was crispy but the inside was soft with red bean fillings. Ohhhh memories, I remember that it was so good! Moving on, we headed over to Fangcun Tea Markets (芳村/南方茶叶总汇), it’s a stretch of shops & opposite there are more shops where they sell tea. There’s damn a lot of selection that we were all blur and donno where to start. In the end, we just chose a shop and had a tea session. 😀 Left the shop with huge bags of lavender, rose, chrysanthemum, pu-er, tie guan yin and green tea. Haha I think we went overboard on the tea..?

Afterwards, we headed to Hai Di Lao again for dinner cause somebody got hooked onto Hai Di Lao. *coughs* *the guys*

4th day, we went to Baiyun Shan! Took the cable car, went to have McDonalds, we were all damn lazy so we didn’t climb anywhere and just took the cable car down. Took some pictures to act like we climbed. 😀 #asif #fatties

After that, we took a cab to Shamian Island to check out. But there’s nothing much there.. was quite disappointing and it wasn’t even that nice. :p We went to the Orient Express to try out. The concept is fine dining in a train. The food was quite ex and dots.

Headed back to Shang Xia Jiu to our final shopping +get some goodies, dinner at Saizeriya and flew back home!

time to fly back home ❤

TBH after I booked the flight, I was worried that China’s going to be very different from Singapore and some people told me the toilets there is dots. I got paranoid thinking how is it going to be there and how am I going to use the toilet so I tried as much to avoid using the toilet as much as possible & only went when I’m back in the hotel/ when I’m in shopping malls/ at haidilao. If you’d ask me whether I would come back again, I’d say most probably not because I’ve already been to the places I wanted to visit. I would most probably use the time and money to travel to somewhere I’ve never been to before. I think I prefer BKK more. But if you haven’t been to Guangzhou before, you should totally go and check the places out. J Oh yes, forgot to mention that we had to say we were Malaysians cause GZ ppl doesn’t like Singaporeans.. So yeah I feel so accomplished after documenting my Guangzhou trip after 5 months!!! Took me long enough! HAHA. Till next time! SMILEEEEE!! ❤

The flight tickets were on promotion for SGD216 total for both ways.

We stayed at Ocean Hotel SGD88.75 for room/night so each of us paid SGD177.44 for the hotel.

Expenses I budgeted for myself SGD100/day

Total expenses for the trip: SGD793.44

Taiwan blog (Taipei) summary

On the forth day, we planned our itinerary to go to the Leofoo village theme park. Usually I’d plan a day to go to somewhere fun like theme park & thats why Leofoo village theme park became our option. They have a leofoo village resort damn cool cause outside your resort’s window, you will be able to see animals.. so cool, I wanted to stay there but then its too costly as we planned this trip abt late. Anyways, leofoo village theme park has 2 parts: Safari area & theme park area. They say its the disneyland in Taiwan. 🙂

I love Taiwan blog (Day 2)

Hello & welcome back to my travel blog.. 🙂 Today I finally feel motivated to do up my day 2 Taiwan Trip after a long time! Been real busy with life recently but I shall take some time today to update this space of mine.

Day 2 in Taiwan, here it goes..

We had our very first breakfast in hotel 7 & when we stepped in the breakfast area, I rmb I was surprised that they had xiao long bao on the breakfast buffet! And some other stuffs that I liked like nuggets and fruits. 🙂 Anyways, although it’s not much but still I enjoyed the breakfast area cause it’s like chill and comfy. img_1845-2img_1842-2

After breakfast, we went to the lobby to meet the driver who was waiting for us to bring us around! 🙂 First stop we went was to 18 degrees as suggested by the driver.. where we stopped by for some ice-cream and ramen testing.

Then we went to visit the farm castle to do some photo-taking & giant koi fish feeding. Haha actually there’s nothing much to do there leh.. nothing much plus, they charged an entrance fee. :/

Ok la, actually it’s nice the scenery. Can’t deny~

Next, we went to have lunch at the Mushroom Garden. Damn nice, please go there if you have the chance to cause its really yummy! 🙂

It’s like a set meal for one that can be shared between two people & its really filling. We sat by the window seat. 🙂

After lunch, we went to visit the Lavender Cottage recommended by my colleague. Haha oh gosh i tell u, be warned that the way up to the place is like up a mountain.. so it goes up and round and up and round.. I felt so nauseous going up -_-

img_2469

There’s an entrance fee and it comes with some cash coupons that we can redeem. So, we used it and made our very own lavender fragrance!

img_2493img_2490img_2489img_2484-1

Also got ourselves a sweet treat, having to enjoy the taste of lavender ice-cream

Next stop, my long awaited place to go.. some where with loads of pretty flowers!!!!!! Chung She Flower Market ❤ But if you are going in the right season, you should totally go Sea of flowers Xin She instead cause its like their popular flower festival, which should be way prettier than this?

I fell in love with this place.

img_2824img_2992img_3164-1img_3244img_3217-1img_3201We went to so many places, I thought that we didn’t have enough time to go to Kao Mei Wetlands already.. But then, we managed to catch the sunset just in time!! It’s the first time I ever saw such a beautiful view with the sun setting into the ocean line, complementing with windmills at the side just makes the view even better.

That ends day 2 in Taiwan for us. Tired us went back to hotel, dabaoed noodles + bubble tea, and enjoyed our dinner in the lounge of the hotel. 🙂 Next up, day 3! Where we leave Taichung and head to Taipei for our subsequent adventures!

I love Taiwan (Day one)

Hello and here’s my very long overdue post on my Taiwan trip. I try as much as I can to update but then, sometimes it’s a little hard cause my time is spent on work, life and korean dramas/variety shows. :p

Anyways its my first time visiting Taiwan and I was really excited for the trip when I was planning for it. It’s also my very first time travelling with my family & bx. So yeap, moving on, there’s my itinerary for Taiwan!

A mandatory shot ( for vainpots like me) at the airport before checking in to chill~

img_0886

I got this hello kitty luggage on Q0010 for $78 for this trip! ❤

Bx’s family lovingly sent us to the airport! & thanks David for heading down straight from work to send us off.

I also got this pink squishy headrest from Typo for the trip so that I can sleep comfortably when we travel around cause we will be expecting lots of travelling!

Landed in Taiwan’s airport!

I read on another blog saying this was nice so I gave this a try once I landed. Pretty good I must say, I love papayas.

We landed, bought SIM card from the booth in front of the escalator, then went down the escalator, bought food then took a bus to the HSR station.

While waiting for the HSR, we ate our sushi! Oh btw, we got our tickets prior to the trip from Klook.com tickets cause it’s CHEAPER then when you go to the counter to buy it. So yeah, #auntiespirit

I super love the scenery while we were on the HSR cause there are just so many greenery & pebbly streams.

We arrived taichung via HSR. We arranged a driver to bring us around taichung for the 2 days we spent here. My driver was Mr Li: +886 979 600 538. He was really nice 🙂 Paid 4000NT per day.

Our first station, 18 degrees, wasn’t in my itinerary but Mr Li recommended us to go before we head to the next destination since we had the time to.

Hours of kayaking is no joke.. the guide paddled so damn fast and we were kiasu so we wanted to be one of the first few initially. But after that we slowly took our own sweet time and decided to just enjoy the view instead. *gained some arm muscles and became tanner*

Lunch here was pretty nice 🙂 esp the fish sauce

After lunch, we headed for elephant trekking since mummy hasn’t tried before.IMG_7369IMG_7372IMG_7401

Lunch after we landed in SG!

I had alot of fun during this trip, and spent most of the time resting in the hotel actually. It’s more of a relaxing trip since it’s a beach vacation. Definitely worth coming for a short trip if you need a short beach getaway! My most memorable part of the trip is definitely riding the ATV, snorkelling, and eating! I would recommend food options: mango juice, nutella banana pancake, porn’s restaurant, red hot chilli restaurant and also do try out at least one beach view restaurants when you visit Krabi! AND DONT FORGET TO EAT THE MANGOES AH 🙂 The dried mangoes are the bomb as well, so buy like 10 packets home uh. jk. or am i. 😀

Estimated budget for the trip: should be less then SGD500 per person in total if u spend like we do (moderately). And also most importantly, do check out whether it’s a good month to go krabi or not cause they have monsoon period. The previous time i went to krabi was during the monsoon period and it was no joke. we experienced bad current that prevented us from enjoying the water activities and also electricity shut down while we were at a restaurant and while bathing (thankfully not me). But yeah! 🙂

Also, no harm checking out the Krabi Town’s night market la if you haven’t been there before.

You don’t really have to do much research actually cause there are many tour agents you can go to for the packages! Try to look around and ask around for the rates of the packages before committing to one so that u will know the standard rate instead of regretting later on. (compare tour package prices) So yeap!

Thanks for reading & love ya! ❤
